Funny Times At Forcebook High

This week, Dave is missing! Not to worry, Adam and Leah are still around. Also, a special guest author on the show this week. Anthony Donnelly is on the show to talk about a collection of short stories he's written called "Fishbowl Fridays".

Adam Leah and David still managed to pull off a Most Listened To This Week, even with the absence of David. What did Adam and Leah do? Why, they called him, of course! Unfortunately for Dave, he didn't answer the phone! What are co-hosts to do? Simple. Choose a song from Moulin Rouge!

Leah's Pick: King Without A Crown- Matisyahu
Adam's Pick: Westchester Faire- Tim Weisberg
David's Pick: Someday I'll Fly Away- Performed by Nicole Kidman

Anthony was asked the usual questions about himself that all Blissers need to know:
Favourite Album- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band- The Beatles
Favourite Book- Money- Martin Amose
Favourite Band- The Rolling Stones AND The Beatles
Favourite Song- Sympathy For The Devil -The Rolling Stones

Anthony could not come up with a favourite death scene in a movie, but Adam and Leah certainly could:

The gang plus one then begin to talk about Mr. Donnelly's book. The writing process, the "getting it published" process, and finally, about the book itself. Adam even reads his favourite excerpt from it! Not to mention Leah doing the same. Check out his book!

Adam was quite the... eccentric, this week, doing playful doodles for the duration of the episode, and also calling out the author of a novel for being RACIST! That's right. RACIST! Mr. Donnelly says the word "Gyp'd", which, as everyone should know, stems from the phrase "To be cheated by a gypsy". This leads to a discussion of common terms used in every day language that are quite racist. Check them out here!

Video Of The Week Time!

Whaaaaaaaaat? VIDEO OF THE WEEK X2???

Leah spoke at length about "chick flicks", which she claims is a quite sexist statement, although she was the only one to use it...

Hmm. So it looks like JK Rowling did a little storytelling about her OWN story (Number 2)...

The Song For The Lovers this week was "Cinders and Smoke" by Iron And Wine.

And finally, you can download this whole episode (or stream it) here!

... who would win in a fight? Paul McCartney, or Michael Jackson?

Adam/David/Barcelona

Missing from the roster this week is Leah. David returned from his vacation well rested and ready to party!

Something's up with the live streaming, but you can still download or stream from right here!

The diminished gang watched quite a few movies over the past week, the most notable being Frost/Nixon, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Wrestler and Slumdog Millionaire.

In an unorthodox approach to getting all of the Most Listened To This Week songs, Adam decided he wouldn't settle for just his and David's. What did he do? He decided to phone Leah and ask her what her most listened to was! Hilarity ensues, oh yes. It does.

Dave's Pick: The Wrestler- Bruce Springsteen
Adam's Pick: Jai Ho- Allah Rakha Rahman
Leah's Pick: Frosty The Snowman- Nat King Cole

From there, David and Adam begin to discuss films. Most particularly, Frost/Nixon and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Adam hasn't seen either of those films, so it was up to David to explain them in a way that made sense.

After talking at length about these films, Adam and David turned their attention to the oft maligned internet, and decided to check out the ignorantbliss@live.ca inbox! Much to their delight, they discovered they had won vast quantities of cash from not one but two different online European lotteries. Also, the Windows Live Team was keeping in touch.

Moving from one internet to the next, David and Adam stumble upon Joaquin Phoenix rapping, and watch multiple videos and describe them to you, the listener. Is it a hoax? Or is Joaquin the real deal? Only time will tell, was the consensus.

In keeping with the Bollywood theme musically (Adam picked a song from Slumdog Millionaire for his Most Listened To, and they had watched Slumdog Millionaire recently also), in a fit of passion, Adam decided to play a little ditty from the film "Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke", sung by Anuradha Paudwal. The song was called "Mera Mahi Bada Sonha Hai", by the way.

Getting back to reality, David and Adam realize that it is almost time to go. What is there left to do? Two minutes of audio? No... that's already been done... twice... hmm. What could it be? OH! VIDEO OF THE WEEK TIME!

David and Adam watch multiple YouTube clips LIVE on the air! And they tell you exactly how awesome you'll feel when YOU watch them. Check it out!

Remember when David and Adam talk about Trigger Happy TV?
Here's some amazing videos from that show.

Song For The Lovers time! This week's song is provided by the Scottish band Glasvegas, and the song is called "Geraldine"!

Nine People Can't Come Up With A Name For This Episode

Today is a very special episode of Ignorant Bliss with Dave and Adam and Leah. Why is that? There's no Dave. Or Leah. Its complete and total ANARCHY!

Listen to the show right here (Or download it at the bottom of this post)!

Episode 15- Nine People Dont Know What To Call This Episode.mp3 - Josh And Adam And James

This week, Adam had special guest hosts James Higgins and Josh VanHooydonk on the show, and the change was hardly noticeable. Josh and James would also like all you lovely people who use Facebook to know about this group.

The Most Listened To This Week was pretty all over the place. Unfortunately, time constraints meant that only Adam's got played (he has that kind of power).

Josh's Most Listened To: Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Die- 4 Year Strong
James' Most Listened To: Love Graffiti- Afternoon Zero
Adam's Most Listened To: Cola Bottle Baby- Edwin Birdsong

The episode this week was different than the other episodes (other than the complete lack of the two other people in the show's name). Not a lot of time was spent talking about movies. The guys definitely talked about music a fair bit. Adam decided that this episode would be about sampling in music, both in rap music, and in other genres. Josh was quite the font of knowledge about rap music, and provided valuable information about current rap music.

Adam talked a whole bunch about artists that have sampled (for example M.I.A., Vanilla Ice, Daft Punk, Justice, and many more), and he also talks about the songs that they have sampled.

James and Adam reminisce of seeing Say Anything at the Vans Warped Tour last summer, and James offered up a delightful story about homelessness in the Detroit area while attending another Say Anything concert, and Josh spoke of elderly rage outside of a concert hall waiting for an Atreyu concert.

Adam played a bevy of songs on this episode. Wonder what they are? Wonder no more!
Sunny- Boney M.
Cola Bottle Baby- Edwin Birdsong
Mathemateam- Mathematikal
Stand On The Word- The Joubert Singers
I Love You More- George Duke

Also, the song that Will Smith used in "Wild Wild West" was "I Wish" by Stevie Wonder.
Also, check out PartyBen. He's worth it.

Adam spoke quite a bit about this band. They're absolutely fantastic, he says. They are a band that has the largest amount of the most recognizable disco songs ever. They have been the inspiration for artists to sample or come up with ideas based on their songs, and Adam can't say enough good things about them.

Video Of The Week time!
Check it out!

Here's that video that James and Josh were talking about.
And here are those very very cute cat videos that Adam was talking about. Also, check out this lady. Will you ever be as cool as her?

The Song For The Lovers this week is a bit of a mystery. E-mail ignorantbliss@live.ca with your answer to this question. "What song (and band) samples this song?" Don't look it up. Use your ears. The song is: I Love You More by George Duke.

You can stream or download the episode here!
